About Us

How we started
Pst. John Kamau and his wife Elizabeth Kamau were aware of the growing number of orphans caused by the HIV/AIDS pandemic, other diseases and tribal warfare in Kenya. Many children were living on the streets without shelter scavenging for leftover food to kill their hunger pangs and others were abandoned and left to die. In 2013 August with 2 young siblings at the start, Bethesda Child Care Center was founded. Our aim was to reduce their suffering by taking them in our small house and sharing with them whatever we had. As we continued to take in, the family grew large and by 2018 we had 47 kids and our small house was so congested that we had to look for other alternatives. At present, we are having 75 children.
